Doubling Down on Female Energy
Hi there,
What a week. From the inauguration to executive orders and Mark Zuckerbergâs puzzling comments about the supposed need for more masculine energy in a "neutered culture"âa statement that feels more like a window into his own insecurities and what I think is a midlife crisis of epic proportions (Priscilla, save yourself!)âI felt inspired to double down on female energy. Enter a special edit for Galentineâs Dayâa day dreamed up by the brilliant minds behind Parks and Recreation to honor the power and beauty of female friendships.
In the show, Amy Poehlerâs character, Leslie Knope, describes it best: âEvery Feb. 13, my lady friends and I leave our husbands and our boyfriends at home, and we just come and kick it, breakfast-style. Ladies celebrating ladies. Itâs like Lilith Fair, minus the angst. Plus frittatas.â Honestly, what could be better than that? đ
Now more than ever, we need to band together, lean on each other, and find strength and comfort in our friendships. Galentineâs Day may be cute, but itâs also a powerful reminder that female friendships are key for our wellbeing. Whether itâs your best friend, your rock-solid mentor, or the friend who always shows up with wine and wisdom just when you need it mostâif youâre lucky enough to have them, donât take them for granted.
With that in mind, Iâve created 2 boards with gifts for every budgetâsweet little pick-me-ups, indulgent splurges, and gifts that show how much you care. Of course, a heartfelt text or an old-school phone call would be just as meaningful. Because if thereâs one thing we could all use right now, itâs a little more care, connection, and celebration of the incredible women who have our backs. â€ïž
Sending lots of love,
Patricia
